You built a strong career.
Now steer it toward safer AI.
AI Futures Mastermind
You want to contribute to safer AI. Finding the entry point is the hard part.
Maybe you've been following the AI conversation for a while. You have concerns, perhaps even an idea of what you'd like to contribute. But you're unsure where the entry points are, whether your background is the right fit, or how to make this work financially.
You're not missing something obvious. The field is genuinely hard to navigate from the outside, with many different organizations, research agendas, and career paths that are rarely visible to people who haven't already found their way in.
The AI Futures Lab is a two-day mastermind in Berlin for a small group of mid-career women to find out how to contribute, with hands-on support from people who have been through it.
The program
A hands-on program for women ready to contribute to safer AI.
The AI Futures Lab is a two-day program for mid-career women who have a strong skillset, a broad professional background, and a real motivation to redirect their work toward safer AI.
We are not looking for people who already work in the field, we are looking for people who are ready to get there. If you have followed the discourse, thought seriously about how to contribute, and need support to make it happen, this is for you.
The format is small and hands-on: 10 to 12 participants, structured sessions, peer support, and direct input from professionals in the AI Safety space.

FAQs
Your questions, answered.
Mid-career women from any field, who want to direct their experience toward safer, more ethical AI. We specifically do not require any technical background, or prior AI/ AI safety experience. We are not screening for a specific industry or role,we are looking for women who have built things, taken initiative and tried things, and are genuinely ready to make this move.
We are looking for mid-career professionals, typically with seven or more years of experience. What matters more than a specific number is whether you have a strong skillset and built real professional depth - whether in a corporate, public sector, non-profit, governmental, or entrepreneurial context.
We care more about your motivation to learn than what you already know. Maybe you have read some articles, listened to a few podcasts, or completed an introductory course. Maybe you have been sitting with this question for months without knowing where to start. All of that counts. We are not looking for high prior context, but some familiarity with the terminology will help you get more out of the program. We have put together a few starting points in the Resources section.
We are currently in the process of identifying and inviting mentors and speakers for the program. They will be women with deep experience and knowledge in the AI safety field, practitioners, researchers, and field-builders who understand what it takes to make a transition and can offer direct, honest guidance. We will share more details once confirmed.
The mastermind is free to attend. For a small number of participants we are able to support with childcare and travel costs. Travel stipends are mainly available for travel within Germany, with limited exceptions for wider Europe. Please note that we are not able to support with visa sponsorships. If you are already planning to be in Berlin for other events around these dates, self-funded travel of course is very welcome. Please mention your needs in the application form. We understand that applicants have work and family commitments, and we will do our best to assist where our grant capacity allows.
No. The AI Futures Lab is an in-person event in Berlin, and there is no option to join online.
We review applications for clarity of motivation, professional depth, and genuine readiness to contribute, whether through volunteer work, a fellowship, or a paid role. We aim to bring together a cohort with varied professional backgrounds. Waitlist applications for this or a future cohort will also be reviewed on this basis, not on a first-come, first-served basis.
Official applications have closed, and we are currently reviewing submissions for the November cohort. We aim to notify all applicants by early November. If selected, you will receive confirmation, venue details, preparation materials, and a short pre-event survey. You can still join the waitlist to be considered for this cohort if space becomes available, or for a future cohort. All applications will be reviewed; joining the waitlist does not guarantee a place.
The mastermind on November 11 and the morning of November 12 requires full attendance, since the sessions build on each other and the group dynamic matters. The public panel on the evening of November 12 is open to the wider public separately and does not require mastermind registration.

We've lived this transition.

We are both mid-career women with broad backgrounds across corporate, non-profit, and entrepreneurship. We started this journey into responsible AI about a year ago, navigating it alongside full lives, work commitments, and family responsibilities.
Along the way we learned a great deal about the ecosystem, how to map the field, and how to make the case for our skills and backgrounds. We built this program around what would have made that transition clearer, faster, and more personal for us.
